The next generation of Porsche 911 is getting closer, that is why more details on generation with the 992 index appear on the web. This time, there is information about the new Porsche 911 GT3, which, as they say in the Australian Motor edition, will lose its 4.0-liter and six-speed mechanical transmission, but will have a power of around 550 hp.

The era of Porsche’s GT models with atmospheric engines is almost over – the 911 GT3 of the next generation will take on a turbocharger. The place of the old engine under the hood of the GT3 will be occupied by the biturbo “six”, which will give the model approximately 550 hp. Which is 50 “horses” more than now.

In addition, the next GT3 will be sold exclusively with an eight-speed PDK.

Thanks to the new engine and PDK, the GT3 should be faster than ever before. According to journalists, 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) will take roughly 3.0 seconds, which would be four tenths of a second less than the PDK-equipped car available today. The maximum speed is expected to exceed 330 km/h. More than 205 mph (330 kph), a sizeable increase compared to the current model’s 199 mph (320 kph) velocity with the manual.

Further differentiation of the next GT3 from the current model will be in increasing the use of light materials aimed at compensating for the additional weight of the transmission.

The debut of the new Porsche 911 GT3 can be expected already by the end of the year, and sales and shipments of the model will begin in early 2019.
